Raising funds for the Recovery Garden in Newcastle has been a great experience.

Recovery Garden

The garden, which focuses on the message that there is hope and recovery for those who experience mental illness, is designed and built by participants from a number of Community Mental Health projects

The petals of recovery

The Tunnel Project was set up in Arklow, Co. Wicklow in May 2008 to support people with enduring mental ill health. The central focus of the participants is on 'recovery' with an emphases on increased participation in community activity and greater independent living. Much of the work is carried out in a therapeutic garden setting where participants develop practical skills. These skills can help them move on with their lives. Daily work in the garden gives participants more positive perspective on life's problems and promotes positive well-being.
